Fake Pizza Place Name Contest Sudden Pizza Death Tie-breaker!!!

Pizza Friends...this is serious pizza business. Yesterday's Mister DeVizzaPizza Fake Pizza Place Name Contest ended in a TIE!! Both "Future Pizza" and "Einstein's Theory of Pizzativity" were reader favorites. And, technically, I suppose I could have just passed both names into the next round. Or simply chosen one as my personal favorite, breaking the tie myself. But listen, sometimes Mister DeVizzaPizza needs some time out of the oven, if you know what I mean. Sometimes the old Pizza Shop has to close its doors for the night. And then take its Pizza Shop Pants off. And watch Nashville Star. So...point being...it's a Sudden Pizza Death Tie-breaker. Vote for your favorite over there in the polls. This time it's for real!

Also...I've got two large pies in the oven right now...the "fancy" pizza piece I mentioned yesterday and a look at Pizza alla Bismark (that's pizza with an egg on top!!), inspired by multiple reader emails. Extra slices all around!!!

Yours, with roasted peppers and onions,
Mr. DP

who the hell made that animation? also, if einstein's theory of pizzativity doesn't win, i'm gonna quit viewing the blog.

jeffois...thanks for your comment! the completely hilarious mister devizzapizza animated gif was sent in by none other than travis "dynamite line" newman. i really should be giving him more visible credit for his work. we did talk briefly about the prospect of linking dynamite line in the mister devizzapizza blog roll, but ended up thinking that the entire conversation was depressing and went back to making fun of kyle. true story. pizza!!!

soundzawesome...thanks for writing in. i'm wondering, where did you come up with that wonderful poster name? i mean, i can just see it now...a pizza shop with a rock and roll theme: soundzawesome! remarkable.

anyway...your concerns are duly noted. really, they are. but try to be understanding - mister devizzapizza is a widly expensive undertaking! my cheese and sauce budget would put a bubble in your crust, i promise you. so, yes, i've authorized the placement of a handful of ads on the site. i hope they're not in bad pizza taste.

do keep in mind, however, that the very deep dish story that you mention in your comment was told in the spirit of open pizza-mindedness. i hoped to inspire pizza fans to move past the crippling, polarized, red (sauce) state vs. blue state mentality toward something like a global pizza party, at which we all can share a delicious pizza pie, passing parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes across the lines of cultural and socio-political difference. thin-crust and deep-dish, margherita and supreme, coal-oven and backyard grill, take-out and delivery...these are but the conventions of pizza fan stratification! they will not stand. soundzawesome, will you join us at this pizza party of hope? i hope you will. and i hope you'll share a slice with your good friend, ads and all, mr. dp.

ps. all of that said, seriously, that guy brought back a deep dish! unreal! visit dominos.com! what?
